Men who have sex with men (MSM)

This section is for men who have sex with men. You may identify as gay or bisexual, or something else altogether, or you may not identify with any label at all. You may have just had sex with another man as a one-off.

Data is telling us that men who have sex with men are disproportionately affected by some sexual infections. Use this section of the website to keep up to date with how to protect yourself. We will also let you know about any local STI outbreaks, relevant services and support offered in Bucks, and news, updates, and useful links.

It is recommended that men who have sex with men have annual STI checks, or every three months if you have multiple partners.

There are 2 main clinics to get checked in Bucks: SHAW in Wycombe and Brookside in Aylesbury. Both Clinics hold walk-in clinics and take appointments. If you want to book an appointment or ask for advice call 0300 303 2880.

Walk-in Clinic details can be found by clicking on the clinics above.

For MSM service users we offer:

    • Option for self-taken swabs

    • Full sexual health screening including Hepatitis C

    • HIV treatment and care

    • Advice and support around safer sex, drug use associated with sex

    • Full range of treatment for infections available

This is a specific website on the PrEP impact trial developed in 2017 by Public Health England, St Stephen’s Clinical Research and NHS England. It gives an overview of the impact trial, includes a participant information sheet and trial protocol, frequently asked questions (FAQs) and contact details for any additional questions not covered by the FAQ section.
