Wycombe Pride 25th August 2018

A presentation was given by Joy Maisey on the importance of Pride in the context of the HIV epidemic, and a short scenario was played out, showing how attitudes to HIV are changing and the great strides that have been made in the detection and treatment of the virus, so much so that we are now able to say that people living with HIV, on effective treatment for at least 6 months, with an undetectable viral load, cannot pass the virus on!

The Youth Engagement Team spent the day answering questions on local services, stressing the importance of regular testing and ensuring young people had accurate and relevant information on a myriad of subjects, and even found time to act as backing singers to the entertainers!

It was a fun event, giving out a powerful message and supporting the local lesbian, gay, bi sexual, transgender and questioning community in the High Wycombe area.
